I dreamt I was driving my car (automatic) in bumper-to-bumper fast traffic, I'm almost positive it was route 93 in Boston. Everyone was going 60 or 70 and the space between cars was less than one foot... I have no idea why I needed to put my brakes on at that speed, but for some reason the speed of the car without any gas pedal pressure was insanely high. I was constantly coming *this* close to rearending the guy in front of me even with my foot slammed on the brake, and I had to pull the emergency brake all the way just to slow down enough. I ended up bipping the back of the guy in front just slightly. I had to pull off and on the brakes faster than the car could handle, just as I got the emergency brake up I had to let it down again or the guy in back of me would push me forward. The car in front was one of those expensive luxury cars, the kind with the driver who will burst a vessel if anyone so much as fondles it, and I just touched it with my bumper several times. We were too tightly packed (and also in the left of three lanes) to stop, and I was struggling too much just to get my car to slow down.
